Group Holdings, Sudatel Telecom Group, Avanti Communications Group and
Lap GreenN that are meeting in London on June 20 to assess the next wave
of growth and strategies for the African telecoms industry.
Also, Andrew Doyle, Managing Director, Technology & Communications Consulting Mott MacDonald, will chair the Africa Telecom Leadership Round Table, which opens the fourth annual TMT Finance & Investment Africa 2013 conference.
The conference brings together industry, finance and advisory leaders from across the region to assess strategy and opportunities for investment.
“Mott MacDonald is delighted to be supporting the TMT Investment & Finance 2013 event. There can be no doubt that telecoms has had a profound impact on the socio-economic development of Africa over the last decade,” said Andrew Doyle, Managing Director, Technology & Communications Consulting, Mott MacDonald.
“The next wave of development should see investment in greater capacity and coverage as demand for data increases. Africa will face the same challenge as elsewhere – how to make a return on significant network investments,” he added.
The conference is being held at a pivotal time for the African telecoms industry, with the need for consolidation continuing to drive deals, and operators under mounting pressure to invest in new services and network licences.
“There are a large number of African mobile operators looking to consolidate their regional portfolios to stimulate more sustainable growth opportunities,” said Dominic Lowndes, Managing Director, TMT Finance, the event organiser. “To do this, some consensus on key issues such as valuation parameters, regulation and infrastructure ownership strategies would be of great benefit,” he said.
TMT Finance and Investment Africa 2013 is the premier conference for telecom leaders, financiers and advisers active in Africa. The conference takes place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London on June 20.
Other key sessions taking place at the conference are: Policy and Regulation Panel– Stimulating investment and growth; The M&A Panel – How will consolidation and restructuring shape the market?; Mobile Infrastructure Panel – Investing in towers and maximising profits; Investing in Next Generation Networks – Delivering broadband services for Africa; CFO and Investors Round Table – Building profitable businesses for Africa; and Financing African Telecoms – Raising debt and equity capital and investment opportunities.
