While the Big 4 cellular carriers spend a lot of time taking pot
shots at one another, they have found at least one common cause to unite
around.
AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Sprint have joined forces for the “It Can Wait” campaign against texting and driving. This week, they debuted a new documentary, “From One Second To the Next,” directed by noted filmmaker Werner Herzog.
“When you get a message while driving, it’s hard not to pick up your phone,” Herzog said in a statement. “With this film, we want to help make people more aware of the potential consequences of that action.”
AT&T also has an online simulator to show what happens on the road from the safety of one’s PC. For those that need a little help being separated from their phones, Bonnie Cha took a look earlier this year at some apps that can enforce a texting ban while driving.
