The State of Osun will host the 11th International Conference of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) billed to hold next month and will refocus the topical theme of e-Government and National Security, the IT group has announced.
NCS said that the conference holding Wednesday July 24 to 26 at the Royal Park Hotel in Iloko-Ijesa in the State of Osun will also wind up with the announcement of results of elective positions contested through e-voting on the website of the association.
The conference will explore sub-themes on Transforming the Art of Governance through e-Government; Conceptual Models and Standards of e-Government; e-Government Automation Processes – Challenges & Benefits as well as e-Government for Leadership and Policy Makers – Imperatives for Nation Building.
NCS added that attendees at the conference will also have the benefit to understand ways of promoting Smart Government and Social Security through Information Technology as well as the employment of IT in the citizen service delivery and social security. This session will also review the role of observation of criminal aspects in society as well as the social impact of IT crimes.
Another key session will beam the radar on promoting economic security through IT with emphasis on combating of economic crimes, protection of financial and economic sites, money exchange and their methods of protection as well as predicting dangers threatening national economy.
Among others, another sub-theme will explore ways of promoting political security through IT with key emphasis on the analysis of political message, e-Democracy and e-Parliament and resolving and managing regional and global conflicts.
Meanwhile, NCS had earlier announced that nominations have been open for elective positions including that of the President, Deputy President, Chairman, Conferences Committee and other positions in the association.
