Mercedes-Benz Unveils 2015 C-Class

Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the all-new, 2015 C-Class on Monday (Dec. 16), boasting a new design, upgrades and improvements over its predecessor.

The new sedan offers sensuous and clear design and a host of technical innovations, as well as a comprehensive scope of standard equipment and exemplary emission and fuel consumption values.

In the U.S., it launches with two C-Class models: C300 4MATIC with a 2.0L turbocharged direct-injection in-line four-cylinder engine with preliminary power figures of 235 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque; and a C400 4MATIC with a 3.0L turbocharged direct-injection V6 at 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.

In addition to increases in its wheelbase, length and width, the new C-Class features an innovative lightweight aluminum body that reduces its overall weight by 220 lbs. As such, it leads the “lightweight rankings” in its segment.

Additionally, among the countless features is the addition of air suspension, makin it the first in its category. The C-Class is fitted with an air suspension (AIRMATIC) on the front and rear axles, offing outstanding road roar and tire vibration characteristics.

Pricing and/or a release date was not announced at press time.
