Carl Mark Force IV and Shaun Bridges are two federal agents charged with stealing and attempting to launder Bitcoin confiscated during the Silk Road investigation.
Silk Road was the single largest online marketplace for illicit goods and services, shut down by the FBI in October 2013. Ross Ulbricht, the administrator for the site, was found guilty of seven charges on February 4th, 2015 including aiding and abetting the distribution of narcotics as well as conspiracy to run a "continuing criminal enterprise." His arrest and charges were the culmination of years of investigation by authorities including Force and Bridges, who are now charged with collectively stealing over $2 million worth of Bitcoin.
